ED
ULIBARRI
Ed is originally from Denver, Colorado where he started performing
as a professional musician at the age of 15, just a little over 37 years ago,
playing keyboards and singing in local rock bands. Ed and 5 of his friends nailed
a recording contract with MCA records back in 1976 and moved to Hollywood to record
the album at the Record Plant with producer Ron Nevison. The album was released
under the band name of Alexis in 1977. Alexis, featuring Ed on lead vocals toured
with some of the more popular bands of that era like Foreigner, Styx, Pablo Cruise,
Pretty Things, UFO and Atlanta Rhythm Section. (You can see Alexis’ poster
prominently used in the movie FM with Martin Mull) As a song writer Ed has written
many songs in addition to writing much of the material on the Alexis project as
well as a solo Christian LP he released in 1983 entitled Hold On. He also enjoys
writing with his wife Ann of whom he has been married to for over 31 years. Playing
live and touring was a highlight for Ed, however his passion is working in the
recording studio. Ed has worked with Michael Pinder of the Moody Blues and Eddie
Money among others as a studio musician, and has enjoyed being in the producer’s
chair working with bands in Northern California over the years. As a musician,
father, grandfather, husband and friend, Ed’s hope is that his music can
help spread the good news of peace and the prospect of a better future for the
many generations to come.
